Ys vs Trails in the Sky: Alternative Saga Release Date Set

We finally know the release date for Ys vs Trails in the Sky: Alternative Saga, an offline and online fighting game that features characters like Adol Christin and Estelle Bright. It will debut on October 10, 2025. That only applies to digital copies available on the Switch, PS4, PS5, and PC, however. Limited Run Games will be responsible for a physical limited edition, but there’s no release date for that yet. There’s also a new trailer showing off the localization, characters, and gameplay.

A number of characters from both series appear, with the story involving some kind of mascot asking them to save their world. In the case of the Adol clip shown in the footage, a mascot asked him to save Xanadu. Additional scenes then showed Estelle, Geis, Kloe, and Tita all also agreeing to help. From there, we see a character select screen with Adol, Agate, Aisha, Chester, Cruxie, Dogi, Elk, Estelle, Geis, Joshua, Kloe, Lloyd, Loewe, Michel, Mishera, Olivier, Renne, and Tita present. After choosing our fighter, we can select a team, a color, and a handicap. The stage select ended up shown after that, with places like Central Square, Eaglet Mountain, Falcom Dev Room, Haken Gate, Harlech Ruins, Ice Ridge of Noltia, Serpentina, Strangerock Castle, Strangerock Throne, and Trechier Woods in the list of 26 options. After picking a stage, we can set the time limit, level, dropped items, training mode option, and BGM song. Story Mode, Arcade Mode, Network Mode, and Free Mode are confirmed too. At the 50 second mark, it gets to actual gameplay footage of fights.
