You’re bound to come across dozens of different items, collectibles, and consumables in your journey through Hollow Knight: Silksong. One of these is the Frayed Rosary String, a collection of holy beads of some significance to the folk of the game’s world. Here’s what to do with it.

How to use Frayed Rosary String in Hollow Knight: Silksong

The Frayed Rosary String is a consumable item, so to use it, open your inventory, hover over it, and hold the Break button to, well, break it. Doing so awards 30 rosaries, a currency you can use to purchase items from certain merchants.

The first of these merchants is on the right-hand side of Bone Bottom, a little guy named Pebb. His stock all costs more than 30 rosaries to buy, so using just one Frayed Rosary String isn’t nearly enough to empty out his inventory.

That said, one of his items, the Magnetite Brooch, gathers rosaries as you explore. You’ll find them hanging from strings throughout the world, but they’re a bit of a chore to collect, being round and prone to rolling.
